Stamp size and colour, if you plan to print
For a document that stays on screen, size hardly matters. It matters when you print. A stamp should be sized by how wide it will be on paper. In practice a personal stamp is usually around 15mm across, and a company seal 25 to 30mm.
The pixel count you need follows from the physical width and the print resolution. The formula is pixels = mm / 25.4 x dpi. A 15mm stamp at 300dpi needs about 177 pixels; 25mm needs about 295. This tool draws at up to three times the display scale, so the saved PNG often exceeds 1,000 pixels on a side, which leaves room to spare for print.
The default colour is close to red ink paste, but a real inked stamp prints lighter than people expect. It looks natural when the text underneath shows through faintly; pushing opacity to the maximum makes it read as a pasted-on image. The same goes for border thickness, since a heavy ring loses the look of a real impression.
The number of characters in a name changes which shape suits it. Two or three characters sit well in a circle. Beyond four, each character shrinks and the strokes start to merge in print, which is when an ellipse wrapping the name vertically reads better. For a company seal, choose a circle when you need room for a centre inscription and a square when the company name should fill the face.

Does this image work as a registered seal?
No. A registered seal — inkan in Japan, ingam in Korea — is a physical stamp filed with a government office and verified against a certificate, so an image cannot replace it. This tool is for places that simply need the look of a stamp: approval boxes, internal documents, letterheads. (This is not legal advice.)
What is the difference between personal and corporate?
Personal takes just a name and comes as a circle, ellipse or square; the ellipse wraps the name in a single vertical line. Corporate spaces the company name evenly around the rim with a phrase such as a job title in the centre. A square corporate stamp places the company name and the phrase without a centre marker.
Why are only a few fonts available?
The seal-script faces used on traditional stamps are commercial fonts, so they cannot be served over the web. They appear in the list only in Korean, and they render only when the font files are installed on the server. If they do not apply, the serif, sans and batang faces still give a convincing stamp look.
How do I put the stamp into a document?
Save as a PNG with a transparent background, insert it as a picture in Word, Google Docs or a PDF editor, and set wrapping to “behind text” so it overlaps the signature line. Red is the default because that is the colour of seal ink; you can switch to black or pick any colour, and adjust the border thickness and text size.
Is the name or company I type sent to a server?
No. Rendering and saving happen entirely in your browser. The saved PNG is a file, though — on a shared computer, delete it afterwards and be careful where you share it.
What is the difference between raised and recessed?
A raised seal inks only the strokes, so the characters print in red on white — this is what most personal seals look like. A recessed seal is the opposite: the whole face is inked and the characters are cut out, printing white inside a solid block. It is common on artwork seals and corporate seals, and the two are sometimes stamped side by side.
